Entry qualification | Undergraduate diploma (or higher) Previous education: First-cycle higher education in cybersecurity, information technology, computer science, computer systems, electrical science, or comparable education and an entrance exam. The entry qualification documents are accepted in the following languages: English. Often you can get a suitable transcript from your school. If this is not the case, you will need official translations in English along with verified copies of the original. All education documents not originally in English must be accompanied by official translations which you can receive directly from your school, or you may get a notary-approved translation. |

Overview
The Cybersecurity Engineering master’s programme at RTU is designed to equip students with the essential theoretical knowledge and practical skills needed to excel in the dynamic and crucial field of cybersecurity.
This programme prepares specialists to design, implement, and manage IT security systems across various industries, focusing on computer networks, software, integrated systems, and critical infrastructures. The curriculum not only emphasises technical competencies but also integrates professional ethics and responsible management practices, fostering a well-rounded approach to cybersecurity.
With access to some of the best supercomputing facilities in the Baltics and partnerships with such industry leaders as Palo Alto Networks and Check Point Software Technologies, RTU students can gain hands-on experience in real-world cybersecurity environments. In a world where cyber threats are escalating, studying at RTU provides the expertise, industry connections, and academic excellence needed to excel in this high-demand field.
RTU carries out various cybersecurity-related projects every year, including the Google.org Cybersecurity Skills initiative which aims to educate over 200 students in Latvia in five key areas of cybersecurity: governance, hygiene, incident management, digital forensics, and architecture. Upon completing the training, students will undertake placements in Latvian regions to assist local authorities and businesses in implementing cybersecurity governance frameworks and technical solutions.
