English language certificates accepted at RTU

Mandatory English Proficiency Proof

If you are a non-native English speaker and your previous education was not conducted in English, you must submit one of the following internationally recognized English proficiency certificates:

IELTS (5.5 or above)
TOEFL iBT (72 or above)*
TOEFL paper-based (532 or above)
TOEIC (780 or above)
Cambridge English Language Assessment (B2 first)
Pearson PTE (59 or above)
or Duolingo (100 or above).

If English was the language of instruction for your entire previous education, you may upload a letter or grade transcript from your school or university confirming this.
In case of any uncertainties, RTU reserves the right to request an official language certificate as specified above.

*TOFEL institutional code for Riga Technical University is 8498
